The Auction
The Queen is the most important piece in the game
I won’t lie. I am a Sadie Kincaid reader. I generally like her work. There are always exceptions to the rule.
The spouse took me to Barnes and Noble with money to spend. I surprisingly didn’t clear the shelves. Rare. Anyways, I picked up The Auction while there because I wanted to read this latest release.
You can guess where the name of the book came from. The auction is where it all starts. A place for men to be very open about their degeneracy. Not very sexy. Not very welcoming to majority of people. Please remember this is a dark romance.
I have very little in the way of trigger warnings so I skimmed to see what I might encounter. Sometimes the warning isn’t necessary to me but for others they are. Imogen is very sheltered and expected to be ‘perfect’ for whomever she is acquired by. But they didn’t expect her to be purchased by the super reclusive billionaire. Or for who that recluse was/is.
Of course, this is a duology, so we don’t get an ending to end the story. We get the cliffhanger. I know. I know. I’m sorry. But guess when book two comes out? (hint: this year)
I will say this is one of Sadie’s more niche books. I don’t think anyone can pick it up and love it. But I can say with certainty you don’t have to stress a pregnancy trope.
Have you read it? Do you plan to?

I’ve had this on my TBR since before I came out! I think I may have bought the audiobook during the indie bookstore day sale on Libro.fm… I haven’t read her books yet so it’s good to know that this isn’t her typical writing!
Thanks for sharing! I don’t think that I’ll be reading this one - just drawing me in
