Rejected by Jaymin Eve
Shifters, A God, Some Royals, Multiple Worlds, Library?!?!
I won a paperback of this in a giveaway. I was intrigued and went in slightly blind. JAYMIN NEEDS TO GIVE ME BOOK TWO! I almost threw it across the room as she suggested we might in the Afterword comments. I need them to find that lovely faster button on the bump and grind too please.
Every once in a blue moon I get a wild hair to scour the giveaway section of Goodreads and Storygraph. The odds of winning one is so skewed I try once every two years maybe. This year I was lucky and won Rejected from the publisher on Storygraph. I cracked it open the day it came in the mail.
I haven’t had a book give me a reading slump since Alchemised. Before that I couldn’t tell you. This year has given me two slumps, and I have to say this is new. I enjoy moving from book to book. I enjoy exploring the worlds that get published.
I probably will upset my waning bookshelf space by saying I pre-ordered book two because I didn’t want to wait a crazy amount of time to buy the book after release.
The setting reminds me of the Library of Alexandria just revolving around the worlds that connect to it. The MMC cultivates and protects it while trying to solve a problem that ends up happening due to the FMC and another problem that you find out about later in the book.
It is one slow burn storyline so if you like your spice to be immediate this book isn’t the one. The story isn’t just plot or character driven either. Both grow as the story evolves.
I am also interested to see if the author plans to expand later on the friends that both MC’s have.
